As a .SE customer, you can choose to pay the annual fee for your domain name for several years at a time, from one to ten years. This is an attractive alternative for those of you who know that you want to have a domain name for a long time. By using the multi-year payment option, you do not have to worry about missing a bill and it is an environmentally friendly choice since it reduces the amount of paper mail.
The annual price for multi-year payments is the same as for the normal annual fee – currently SEK 216, excluding VAT (SEK 270 including VAT). If you opt for multi-year payments, you pay for the number of years that you choose in advance. A new bill will be sent when the period has ended. The next bill will be for the same time period as the previous one, unless you actively change this.
We will e-mail you on an annual basis with information about how long you have left before it is time to renew your domain.

How do I select multi-year payments?
You select multi-year payments through a setting in the DomainManager.
Please note that multi-year payments are selected for each domain name. In other words, if you have several domain names, you must select this setting for each domain name. The domain holder or a billing contact for the domain name is authorized to opt for this service.
They can also complete a form to opt for multi-year payments. Be sure to complete all information, including a signature. Then send the form to us and we will perform the change for you.
Can I change the payment period?
You can change your payment period through your account in the DomainManager. The change must be made no later than the 7th of the billing month.
If a bill has already been created, the following applies:
- If you reduce your payment period, the bill will be nullified in part. In this case, the billing recipient will receive an e-mail with information about the amount due for payment (no new bill will be sent). If you increase your payment period, we will not bill you pursuant to your new choice until the next billing period for the domain.
What do I do if I have several domains on the bill but do not want to renew all of them?
In this case, you log into your account in the DomainManager and deregister the domain(s) that you no longer want to keep. The billing recipient will then receive an e-mail with information about the reduced amount due for payment (no new bill will be sent).
I will be taking over a domain following an assignment of domain name – how will my payments be structured if the previous holder had multi-year payments?
When the assignment of domain name has been processed and finalized, you will receive confirmation by e-mail. The domain’s due date will remain, although if it is in the middle of a billing period (and the domain is unpaid) a new bill will be created and the payment period will then be for one year. If you subsequently wish to opt for multi-year payments for forthcoming bills, you can change this in the DomainManager.
I have moved my domain to .SE after previously being a customer of another registrar with which I had multi-year payments. What does that mean for my current payment status?
The domain’s due date will remain the same, meaning that the period for which you paid the other registrar still applies. When it subsequently comes time to renew the domain again, we will send you a bill.
The payment period will be one year after the transfer to us. Now, you can choose whether you want to make this a multi-year period, but in this case you must go in and choose a new payment period in the DomainManager.
If you transfer your domain in the middle of a billing period, a bill for one year will be sent to you. If you subsequently wish to opt for multi-year payments for forthcoming bills, you can change this in the DomainManager.
What happens if I have opted for multi-year payments and already paid, but then change registrars?
The due date for the domain will remain the same – meaning the period that you have paid us for still applies. Afterwards, you should check with your new registrar what procedure they apply.
I have a billing contact associated with my domain name, what does this mean for my payments?
If you have an external billing contact (meaning a contact with a different corporate registration number), as the domain holder, you will receive an e-mail with information about whether your billing contact opts for a multi-year payment option and the period for which this applies.
If your billing contact dissociates themselves from your domain name during a billing period, a new bill will be created and sent to you as the domain holder. In this case, the multi-year payment option will be set to one year. If you subsequently wish to opt for a multi-year payment for forthcoming payments, you can change this in the DomainManager.
