Be one step ahead of your renewal notice

About three weeks before we send out a renewal notice for your domain name you receive an e-mail with the suggestion to review your contact information. We would appreciate that you check that the information is correct so that the renewal notice does not go astray.

You can also see in this e-mail which domain name(s) to which the notice pertains and you also receive instructions about how to select e-mail notification and how you decline extension of registration.

So it’s good to stay one step ahead of your notice.

.SE Direkt raises price by SEK 20

Effective April 1, .SE Direkt is raising the price for new registration and the annual fee for .se domain names. The annual fee is being increased from SEK 160 to SEK 180 excluding VAT and new registration from SEK 440 to SEK 460 excluding VAT.

• Annual fee: SEK 225 incl. VAT.
• Registration fee; new registration of domain name: SEK 575 incl. VAT.

Results of environmental campaign

During 2010, we at .SE Direkt, together with our customers, implemented several actions to reduce our climate and environmental footprint. During the period August 1 through December 31, 210 we carried out a campaign to increase the number of customers selecting e-mail notification. For each customer who chose e-mail notification, SEK 2.50 per notice was contributed to climate compensation, in this case to planting trees in Uganda and Mexico.

During the period, 13,886 customers chose e-mail notification. Consequently, our customers contributed to a climate compensation corresponding to SEK 34,715, or about two hectares of planted trees or 240 tons of CO2 emissions, corresponding to the emissions from about 100 gasoline-powered cars. We are extremely pleased about this! Thank you for choosing e-mail notification and thereby being a little extra considerate of the environment. Read more about the environmental efforts here.

School Webstars will be chosen soon

As a customer of.SE Direkt you contribute to the positive development of the Internet in Sweden. The proceeds from registration fees finance projects aimed at developing the Internet. Among other actions, part of what you pay for your domain name finances a competition for school children known as Webstars.

The aim of the Webstars project is to develop the use of the Internet in school work and that students in Swedish schools gain solid knowledge in the use of the Internet in publishing content and spreading meaningful messages. Among other activities, they can accomplish this by creating their own websites for the school work of their choice.

Now it is soon time to select the winners in this year’s competition, and this year nearly 2,000 teams have created their own contributions on the Internet. Follow the selection process through to the final at www.webbstjärnan.se.
