Loopia acquires the Swedish Internet Foundation registrar business .SE Direkt. You do not have to do anything yourself in connection with the transition, it will not affect your domain name, does not cost you anything and is implemented by Loopia and .SE Direkt together. Your domain name will continue to function as before but will be moved to Loopia on the 12th of February, which will become your new domain registrar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
In September last year, the Swedish Internet Foundation decided to sell .SE Direkt. In October we communicated our intention to sell and started a process where we received bids from various interested parties. The process is now complete – the Swedish company Loopia acquires .SE Direkt. As of February 12, Loopia will therefore be your new domain provider.

Loopia is an established, safe and respected Swedish registrar with many years of experience in domain administration and satisfied customers. We at the Swedish Internet Foundation are sure that they will be able to provide .SE Direkt’s customers good service in both short and long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At present, .SE Direkt has a limited range of services and the number of customers using .SE Direkt has steadily decreased since the start in 2009.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have now reached a point where we need to invest in a new technical infrastructure to be able to offer our customers a continued stable and reliable service. At the same time, there is a risk that the reduced customer base makes it difficult for .SE Direkt to be profitable in the long term.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to avoid ending up in a situation where we have to subsidize our own registrar, which leads to competitive problems, the Swedish Internet Foundation has decided that it is better for everyone involved to divest .SE Direkt to a company that can take better care of our customers even in the long run.

You do not have to do anything yourself in connection with the transition to Loopia. The transition will not affect your domain name, it does not cost you anything and it is implemented by Loopia and .SE Direkt together. Your domain name will continue to function as before but will be moved to Loopia, which will become your new domain registrar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The transition period starts on February 12 and will be carried out on an ongoing basis for each customer. It is expected to be completed within a few days, with some exceptions. Your domain and website will not be affected during this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When the transition is completed, you will administer your domain name via Loopia Custo<\/a>m<\/a>er Zone<\/a> and future invoices will have Loopia as sender. You will receive login credentials to Loopia Customer Zone as soon as the transition is completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After the move you will have the opportunity to take part of Loopia’s product range, including support that is open also on evenings and weekends, a security agreement for your domain names and secure login via BankID to Loopia Customer Zone. Loopia can also offer automatic renewal, which means that you do not have to risk losing a domain name when the billing period comes to an end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Your current contract periods for your domain names at .SE Direkt will continue to apply at Loopia. You can already now add Loopia as a new provider to your company or organization so that payments for future domain renewals will be easier to perform.
