.SE Direkt’s Terms and conditions for domain-name administration
.SE Direkt’s Terms and conditions for domain-name registration apply when registering a .se domain. Carefully review .SE Direkt’s terms and conditions before you register a new domain name. These terms and conditions include:
- Anyone can register a .se domain provided that it is available, is not on .SE’s block list and does not contravene Swedish legislation. You can check if the domain is available here.
- The “first come, first served” principle applies
- A .se domain must contain at least two and not more than 63 characters
- A .se domain may contain the letters a-z, å, ä, ö, é and ü, the numbers 0-9, hyphens and characters that occur in the official Swedish minority languages or in the languages of the neighboring Nordic countries
- The holder must provide a functioning e-mail address and complete contact information
- The selected name cannot contravene any laws or infringe on any copyrights, such as brand names.
Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received by .SE Direkt. When your application has been processed, .SE Direkt will notify you by e-mail.

Blocked and reserved domain names
There are a number of domain-name categories that have been blocked or reserved by .SE. Through this link you can download a text file with a list of all blocked and reserved domains.
Some domain names are entirely blocked for registration, while others are reserved for authorized applicants.
The following combinations are also blocked but do not appear on the list:
- All numerical combinations in the xxxxxx-xxxx format that constitute or may eventually constitute a civil registration number.
- The numerical series 900,000 – 909,000 with the 90xxxx-x and 90x-xxxx format
- 90,000 for emergency calls
- For technical purposes, domain names that begin with two characters followed by two hyphens are also blocked
