Register a domain

.SE Direkt is a part of .SE (The Internet Infrastructure Foundation), which is responsible for the top-level Swedish Internet domain, .se. Accordingly, .SE Direkt is a flexible and stable alternative for those who want to manage their own name server or who want the freedom to choose their supplier of optional services. When you register a domain with us, you pay a SEK 350 registration fee including VAT (SEK 280 excluding VAT), as well as an annual fee of SEK 255 including VAT (SEK 204 excluding VAT). You can choose to pay the annual fee for several consecutive years at once if you like, which you can decide in conjunction with a new registration. You can opt for a payment period of between one and ten years. If you register multiple domain names you can not choose different payment periods for them, since all your domain names must have the same payment period. If you wish to have different payment periods for different domain names, you can instead register them one by one.

How to register a domain with .SE Direkt

To register a domain name with .SE Direkt as a new customer, click on the “Register new domain” tab below. When completing your contact information, you can also select a payment period. If you are already a customer with .SE, you can first log into the DomainManager, where you can subsequently complete a new registration through our application form. This will allow you to choose a payment period in conjuction with choosing your contact ID. The applications are processed in the order in which they are received by .SE Direkt. When your application has been processed, .SE will notify you by e-mail.

Note that .SE Direkt does not offer any optional commercial services, such as web hosting or e-mail. Services and Prices for domain name registration with .SE Direkt

Domain name registration fee: SEK 350 including VAT (SEK 280 excluding VAT). When registering a new domain name you pay a registration fee and an annual fee(s) for the payment period of your choosing.

Right of withdrawal

A consumer (physical person) who wants to cancel the purchase of their domain name informs .SE Direct of this by submitting a Right of withdrawal form that is available here.
The right of withdrawal can be exercised within 14 days of registering your domain name.

The withdrawal period is valid if you registered the domain name in your capacity as a private individual. However, if it was registered as a sole trader, the situation may differ. Nonetheless, the withdrawal period always applies, for example, to limited liability companies. If a consumer requests that .SE Direkt complete the agreement during the grace period, the right of withdrawal becomes void. By utilizing the service, such as by logging in to the DomainManager, the consumer is requesting the completion of the agreement. Accordingly, it will no longer be possible to withdraw from the domain name agreement. More details regarding the right of withdrawal and who can utilize the right of withdrawal is available in the Swedish Distance and Doorstep Sales Act (2005:59).

Different types of domains

A .se domain name can have many different appearances. Via this link, you can read more about IDN domains, which can include Swedish characters, and ENUM domains, which can be linked to a telephone number to control how your calls shall be connected. You can also obtain a more secure domain with .SE-DNSSEC.

.SE Direkt handles personal information in a manner compliant with the Swedish Personal Data Act (1998:204) and .SE’s confidentiality policy.
