Multi-year payments
As a .SE Direkt customer, you can choose to pay the annual fee for your domain name so that it covers several consecutive years. You can select multi-year payments from one to ten years. Make your choice in the DomainManager.
Only the billing-notice recipients can select multi-year payments using their DomainManager accounts.
What does “multi-year payment” mean?
You can now choose to receive your domain fee bill for several consecutive years rather than for just one year at a time. For example, we can send you a five-year bill if that is the payment period that you want. A new payment notice will be sent at the end of this period. The following payment notice will also be for five years unless you active change the number of years. We will send you an e-mail every year with information about the amount of time left until you need to renew your domain.
How do I choose a multi-year payment?
1. Log into your DomainManager account.
2. Click on “Domains” in the left menu.
3. Click on the domain for which you wish to change the period.
4. Click on “Change payment period” at the bottom of the page.
5. Choose the desired period in the drop-down menu.
6. Click on “Change”.
Please note that multi-year payments are selected for each individual domain name. If you have several domain names, you must complete the process for each domain name. Only the registrant or a payment contact for a domain name can select this service.
What does it cost?
The annual fee is currently SEK 255 including VAT (SEK 204 excluding VAT). We offer no discounts on multi-year payments, you pay for so many years you choose. Read more about .SE Direkt’s prices here.
Can I change the payment period?
You can change your payment period by using your DomainManager account. The deadline for making a change is the 7th of the payment-notice month. If a payment notice has already been created, the following will apply:
If you reduce your payment period, the notice will be partly cancelled. The payment-notice recipient will then receive an e-mail containing information about the relevant amount remaining to be paid. (We will not send a new bill.)
If you increase your payment period, we will send a bill according to the new period length only after the current period had ended.
What do I do if my bill contains several different domains but I do not want to renew them all?
You should log in to your account in the DomainManager and deregister the domain(s) that you no longer want. The payment-notice recipient will subsequently receive an e-mail containing information about the reduced amount to be paid.
I am going to take over a domain after a transfer. What applies if the previous registrant has chosen a multi-year payment plan?
You will receive an e-mail once the transfer has been processed. The domain’s expiry date is the same as before. If you are in a payment-notification period (and the domain has not yet been paid), a new bill will be created and sent to you as the new registrant. Your payment period will then be set at one year. If you wish to select a multi-year payment for future bills, you can choose a payment period in the DomainManager.
I transferred to .SE after previously having been the customer with another registrar for which I had a multi-year payment plan. What happens now?
The expiry date is the same as before, meaning that the period for which you have already paid the previous registrar will apply. We will send you a new bill once it is time to renew the domain. The payment period is set at one year after the transfer to .SE. You will then be able to choose if you want a multi-year payment plan. Since you are a new .SE customer, you must log in to the DomainManager to select a new period.
If your domain is transferred in a payment-notification period, a bill for a one-year period will be sent to you. You can then choose a multi-year payment period for when the next bill is sent.
What happens if I have selected a multi-year payment period and paid, but subsequently changed registrar?
The expiry date will be the same, meaning the period for which you have paid .SE Direkt. You will then need to check with the rules of your new registrar.
I have a billing contact linked to my domain name. What happens now?
If you have an external billing contact (for example, with another corporate registration number), you as a registrant will receive an e-mail containing information about your payment contact, selecting a multi-year payment and the applicable period.
If your payment contact disassociates itself with your domain name during a payment period, a new bill will be created and sent to you as the registrar. In such a case, the multi-year payment is automatically set at one year and you can subsequently change this period via the DomainManager if you so wish.
